POR 15 or Rust Bullet?

I have been looking at a hand-full of forums over the past few weeks. I couldn't help but notice the amount of people talking about rust preventive paint, and which one is the best.
Most discussions were about Por 15 against Rust Bullet. Some people were saying they preferred Rust Bullet, but the paint of choice seemed to be Por 15.
We at Frost couldn't help but agree in this case, due to the amount of positive customer feedback we get, claiming Por 15 is the Best!
Many of our customers have commented on the durability of POR 15, saying that it is "nigh impossible to chip the coating even when it is really hit with a hammer"!
Click here to have a look at a test involving POR 15 and Rust Bullet.
If you don't believe me, why don't you try it for yourself. Click here to have a look at POR 15.
Have your say, and please comment below, letting us know your thoughts.

Having Battery Problems?

Did you know that 90% of batteries fail due to the build up of sulphates on the lead plates within the battery? The build up of these sulphates occurs whenever the battery is not in a full state of charge.
The sulphates insulate the plates from surrounding acid in turn reducing the performance of the battery.
Here at Frost we have the answer:
The Battery Activator is designed to improve battery performance and greatly extend useful battery life, this device uses pulse technology to remove sulphates by sending a “shock wave” every 30 seconds through the battery. This pulse of energy, amounting to 90 amperes for a few microseconds, is sufficient to remove any build up of sulphates anywhere within the battery. Positive and Negative connections must be made direct to the battery terminals with no extension of the original leads.
The Battery Activator Can be fitted and left permanently connected. It is fitted with 3 indicators to show the condition of the battery and an indicator which flashes every 30 seconds as the pulse is generated and flows through the battery.

Restoration Stories

I was just having a quick surf over the internet this afternoon and stumbled accross carsinbarns.com. It's a very interesting website with images and stories of classic cars that have been left to rot.
A lot of the authors write; how much they'd like to buy the cars and restore them. They also send in their images.
If you have images of cars you have found in barns, or ones you own and are restoring, or even your pride and joy that you have finished restoring, please send the images in with some text to frost@frost.co.uk and I shall post them up on this blog if you wish. That way people can leave comments and have discussions about the car.
This may be helpfull for you or it may just be a pleasure to see your car online.
How about it?

New Products

Here is a small selection of the new products available at http://www.frost.co.uk/
The Flexible Metre Long Magnetic Pickup Tool otherwise know as the "FlexiMag".
This is an extremely strong magnet that will pick up over a kilo. It is electrically insulated and can be used by many trades including electricians to retrieve out of reach items such as dropped nuts and washers. A 6mm tip is fitted to a metre long flexible rod providing the user with plenty of reach.
Now you can see what is happening inside your engine, gearbox, rear axle and petrol tank without the need to dismantle. Using high resolution fibre optics with a built in light allows sight focusing from 20mm from the end of the 6mm flexible shaft. The Endoscope comes with an 11mm outer sleeve which can hold any shape for inspection around corners.
Soda Blasting leaves a metal surface as clean and smooth as the day it was stamped at the factory. You not only have no damage from heat warping as with abrasive blasting but you also have a nice, smooth, surface to work from. No danger or mess from chemical strippers and no hard labour from hand sanding. You can blast over sound chrome, glass and rubber with virtually no effect on them at all. It also works for damage free paint removal on fiberglass. The soda leaves behind a thin film of pulverized Baking Soda on the bare metal surface which acts as a protective film to prevent flash rust. Blaster takes about 40 kilos of Baking Soda and includes an 8" hose with deadman valve, 4 nozzles and instructions. Requires minimum of 8cfm at 80psi.

The Bluebird Project

On the 4th of January 1967, whilst trying to break his own water speed record of 276mph, Donald Campbell and his Bluebird speedboat vaulted from Coniston water in the Lake District. Donald was killed instantly and the Bluebird broke up into several pieces, sinking 41metres to the bottom of the lake.
In March 2001, Donald's body was recovered by a team of divers lead by Bill Smith, along with the remains of the Bluebird.
Since then a rebuild has been underway and is in its last stages.
Frost Restorers Equipment is one of the official sponsors of the Bluebird project and has donated parts to aid the rebuild.
